What is runway?

Your runway is how long the money you can use will last if nothing changes: the time until it reaches zero. Under 60 days A Runway To shows it in days; from 60 days, in months.

How is runway calculated?

A Runway To starts from what you HAVE. It then walks forward through time, adding each payment IN when it arrives and taking away each cost OUT when it leaves, including recurring items that start later or end. The point where your money would reach zero is the end of your runway.

If what comes in keeps up with what goes out, there is no end date, and A Runway To shows your runway holding steady or growing instead.

What counts as HAVE?

The money you can actually use: your current account, savings or cash. Leave out money you do not consider available, such as tax you have set aside or a house deposit. You can also switch an item off without deleting it.

What does confirmed vs expected mean?

Confirmed income is money you can count on: booked work, a wage, an invoice that has been agreed. Expected income is money you think is coming but is not certain yet, like a grant you have applied for.

Your runway counts confirmed income only, so it never spends money that has not arrived. With Full Runway, EXPECTED RUNWAY shows a second number that includes expected income too.

How do I restore Full Runway?

Full Runway is a one-time purchase made through the App Store with your Apple Account. On a new iPhone, or after reinstalling, open A Runway To and tap RESTORE PURCHASE, in Settings or on the Full Runway screen. There is no A Runway To account to sign in to.

How do I export my data?

Export is part of Full Runway. Open Settings and tap EXPORT. A Runway To makes a file of your budget and opens the iOS share sheet, so you choose where it goes. Nothing is exported unless you start it.

How do I delete my data?

Open Settings, tap DELETE ALL DATA and confirm. Your ledger, saved What Ifs and history are removed from your iPhone and A Runway To starts again. Deleting the app also removes everything it stored on your iPhone.

We do not hold a copy of your budget, so there is nothing to delete on our side. If your iPhone is backed up to iCloud or a computer, those backups may hold the app’s data until they are replaced.
